Stará Voda
A suspicious incident unfolded today at the improvised refugee camp set up near the local church in Stará Voda. During a routine monitoring and assistance mission conducted by a Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) unit, the unexpected activity of two non-governmental organizations raised serious questions among responders and displaced persons alike.
According to the CIMIC team, representatives from two NGOs—identified as HFI and Golden Crow—were on site upon their arrival. However, their presence was abruptly cut short: as soon as the NGO workers spotted the approaching CIMIC unit, they hastily boarded a white van and drove away, bypassing any opportunity for contact or coordination.
Distribution of Supplies and Propaganda Leaflets
Testimonies gathered from refugees at the scene paint a concerning picture. While the two organizations did supply basic provisions—namely bread and water—they simultaneously distributed printed material described by residents as propaganda. Refugees also noted that the NGO workers were speaking Czech among themselves throughout the interaction.
The sudden flight of the NGO workers and the nature of the literature left behind leave open critical questions regarding their motives. The propaganda leaflets collected at the site are now being reviewed by authorities to determine the origin of the operation and ensure the security and truthful information flow within the Stará Voda camp.
